Mission / What We Do
The BEA Society facilitates the distribution of urgently needed medical supplies to providers in the developing world.
Our Mission
The BEA Society is dedicated to eliminating health inequality and enhancing health outcomes for women and newborns in the developing world by facilitating the acquisition and distribution of urgently needed medical supplies to providers in the developing world.
Why is this effort important? According to the World Health Organization:
- 94% of maternal mortality occurs in the developing world
- Infant mortality is 10-90x greater in the developing world
- Over 800 women die every day from preventable complications from pregnancy and childbirth
- The risk of maternal death is 1 in 45 in developing countries vs. 1 in 5400 in developed countries.
- Access to basic care with clean supplies can dramatically improve outcomes at delivery and save lives with healthier newborns, fewer peripartum complications for mothers, and faster recoveries from childbirth.
- By providing consistent and high quality care, health care providers build trust in the community, thereby encouraging women to seek prenatal care which perpetuates the improvement for safer future pregnancies and improved maternal and infant mortality rates.

What We Do
To accomplish our mission of facilitating the distribution of urgently needed medical supplies to providers in the developing world, the BEA society:
- Campaigns in our local community and web platforms raising awareness of the disparity of healthcare provided to women and infants in the developing world and solicits donations to facilitate our acquisition of essential medical supplies.
- Partners and distributes these supplies to high quality healthcare providers in the developing world.
Our corporate sponsorships and partnerships with charitable distribution programs have allowed the BEA Society to purchase high quality medical supplies at or below cost, thus exponentially compounding the value of our donors’ contributions to mothers and infants in the developing world.
Our organization strives to differentiate itself from other larger charitable organizations by eliminating administrative expenses that reduce the value of a donation’s impact toward the provision of care: the leadership of the Bea Society are all volunteers, and our legal and logistical expenses are covered by a corporate grant. Thus, a $100 donation to the BEA Society will provide $100 of medical supplies to mothers and infants in the developing world. Donors will receive transparent detailed reports that attest 100% of their donations were used in the provision of medical supplies specifically to benefit mothers and infants in the developing world. Thank you for yet another shipment of supplies for Maison de Naissance…Your contributions are more precious to Maisson de Naissance’s operations in turn, and we are sincerely grateful for your generosity of time and spirit to procure and ship supplies.
