Midwives For Haiti has been providing prenatal and obstetrical care and midwife education since 2004. Because of the dual focus on education of community midwives as well as improved health care access, Midwives For Haiti has trained over 180 skilled birth attendants and ensured over 126,000 safe pregnancies and births for women in Hinche, Haiti.
Midwives For Haiti continues to expand its scope with mobile health clinics and midwife and skilled birthing assistant education programs so that more women can benefit from having a trained health care provider during delivery. The BEA Society is delighted to provide supplies, such as gloves, to ensure continued delivery of care.
